Whilst reviewing the perks and pitfalls of 2010, I came across this video— a birthday video, mainly directed by my brother Bernon Abellera (@superbernon) and good friend Sheryl Saturnino (@imstuckatjaeminshouse), featuring many of my wonderful friends :)
I turned 20-years old this year, and I remember how dreary I was to officially leave the teenage years and turn twenty. I love everything about adolescence. I love being silly, young, fun, free, and living life without any real responsibilities. I go about life as a kid-at-heart with a Never-Never-Land mindset because growing up terrifies me. I mean, I guess I’m considered “grown up” now? When I was 5-years old and peered out into the future, I assumed I would have all the cards in my hand by the time I were 20. But here I am— still so curious, yet still so cautious.
Anyway, my real point w/ the video is that even though I openly expressed how I dreaded turning twenty and felt no desire to celebrate it, my friends came together to make this video in attempts to elevate my spirits. Needless to say, it worked, and I love them for it <33
